The topic of this 24 pages long magazine is dyslexia. It arose from a collaboration with a foundation which is helping kids to deal with their writing and reading problems. This magazine focuses on what is positive about being dyslexic. The common prejudice in Germany is that those kids are lazy or even dumb but matter of fact is those kids are likely be to very intelligent and have an extraordinary skill in abstract thinking. "Symbtoms" is showing a collection of creative and well known artists who have been dyslexic as well. I listed on the first page positive and negative symptoms of dyslexia without telling anything else. The following pages are close ups of pictures made by dyslexic artists. This gets the reader in a similar position like a dyslexic person. The viewer is not able to recognize the whole image. Just like a dyslexic person got difficulties in reading a book. At the end of the magazine the reader discovers and experiences that all pictures been seen, are made by artists just like Hitchcock, Da Vinci or Warhol who have been dyslexic.
My aim was to make people aware of their prejudices against dyslexic people and to encourage the affected one.
